Back Pain - What you need to know!

Back pain is one of the conditions most commonly treated by chiropractors.  Some of the most common causes of back pain are sprain/strain injuries, muscle spasm, disc bulges or herniations, or osteoarthritis.  You can read more about these specific conditions by clicking on any of the buttons below.

Recent studies have shown that adding chiropractic care to your treatment regimen is significantly more effective in managing back pain with conventional medical treatment alone.

In recent years, chiropractic treatment for back pain has gained significant popularity among the public.  This is largely because the amount of research available to support the effectiveness of chiropractic care on these symptoms has become much more available.  It is now a widely accepted fact that maintaining proper spinal motion will allow you to have healthier joints that function more effectively and therefore also cause you to feel less pain.  Please feel free to visit the "What is Chiropractic" tab at the top of the page to find out more about how chiropractic care works to correct joint pain.

Depending on what is causing your back pain, your treatment with Dr. Fleming will likely involve a combination of soft tissue work to correct dysfunction in the muscles, tendons and ligaments, as well as spinal adjustments to correct joint fixations.  In order for you to get the most out of your treatment, it is important that you supplement your treatments with the appropriate home care to make sure your body heals as quickly as possible.  Check out the items in the next section to see what you can do to help manage your pain at home.

Is chiropractic care safe? The research certainly says so! See how chiropractic care compares with other treatments commonly used for back pain.  Taking an aspirin is actually significantly more "dangerous" than receiving a chiropractic adjustment!
