Oriental medicine (OM), also known as Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) is a healing art that existed in some form or other for more than 3,000 years. Some of the earlier texts date back from the Han Dynasty (206 BCE to 220 ACE). In the western world, it is commonly known as acupuncture. However, acupuncture is only one of several modalities that physicians of TCM use to treat patients. TCM emphasizes the role of the body in the healing process and uses herbs and natural agents to maintain health. It is an effective form of treatment and a particularly safe form of therapy. TCM is a complete medical system that takes into account every aspect of human life to promote health and well-being. It sees the body as one whole entity like a “Garden” and encompasses its physical, emotional, energetic, as well as its spiritual aspects. It emphasizes on the “Vis medicatrix” the “healing power of nature” better known as “the inborn ability of the human body to respond to the insult of illness or injury and restore itself to health in most episodes of disease or trauma (Whorton, 2002, p. 6).” The goal for treatment is boosting the ecological condition to favor self-regulatory capacity. Physicians in the eastern world are trained to examine skin, complexion, bones, channels, smells, sounds, mental state, preferences, emotions, tongue, pulse, demeanor, and body build to discern patterns that underlie a patient’s complaints. TCM’s wholistic approach to healing addresses the underlying cause of disease, and allows the body to heal itself naturally. Physicians are taught to treat the cause not just the symptoms of an illness so that the body can function more efficiently and therefore ensuring true health.

Swedish Massage
If you're looking for full body relaxation with light to medium pressure, this massage might be for you. Our Swedish Massage allows you to experience increased circulation, elongation of muscle fibers, and decreased muscle stiffness in the comfort of our cozy, comfortably lit therapy room. For best results, tell your therapist which areas you would like her to focus on during your session. You may want some extra attention focused on areas of particular stiffness or soreness.
Depp Tissue Massage
If you suffer from chronic muscle tension, a deep tissue massage may be right for you. A deep tissue massage shares many of the components and benefits of a Swedish massage, but with deeper pressure. The application of more pressure allows the therapist to reach deeper layers of muscle and tendons. Some individuals may feel some discomfort as the massage therapist works through these deeper structures, but many enjoy the deeper sense of relaxation it can provide. It is important to communicate any discomfort to your therapist or let her know if you feel more pressure is required.
Prenatal Massage
Pregnancy can bring on a number of aches and pains. A prenatal massage can be a great way to help relieve some of these aches and some stress as well. Back stiffness, foot soreness, and neck stiffness can all benefit from massage therapy.
Hot Stone Massage
This massage utilizes hot stones to increase blood flow, decrease muscle stiffness and speed tissue healing. The heat from the stone serves as a perfect compliment to the soothing massage.
Cranial-Sacral Therapy
Craniosacral Therapy (CST) is a gentle hands on method using light touch that relieves tension in the central nervous system.
Optional Add-ons:
Aroma therapy - Peppermint, lavender, orange, tea tree, lemon, lime, tangerine, cinnamon, and more!
Infrared Heat - increase blood flow and expedite healing
